Best Squishy Advent Calendars for Christmas 2026

Christmas is one of the most exciting times of the year, especially for kids who can't wait to see what's waiting under the tree. But what if you could make every day leading up to Christmas just as exciting as Christmas morning?

That's exactly what a squishy advent calendar can do!

Squishy advent calendars are a fun alternative to traditional chocolate calendars, offering adorable, squeezable toys and exciting surprises throughout December. Whether you're shopping for a child who loves collecting cute toys, looking for a unique holiday gift, or starting a new family Christmas tradition, these calendars bring a little extra excitement to the holiday season.

In this guide, we'll explore the best types of squishy advent calendars for Christmas 2026, what makes them special, and how to choose the perfect countdown calendar for your family.

What Is a Squishy Advent Calendar?

A squishy advent calendar is a Christmas countdown calendar that contains small, squeezable toys hidden behind numbered compartments. Instead of receiving candy or chocolate, children open a new compartment each day to discover a fun squishy surprise.

Most traditional Christmas advent calendars feature 24 compartments, allowing children to open one surprise each day from December 1 through Christmas Eve.

Squishy toys come in different shapes, colors, characters, and designs. Some resemble adorable animals, while others look like miniature foods, holiday characters, or colorful collectibles.

What makes these calendars especially entertaining is the element of surprise. Children don't know exactly what they'll discover each morning, making the countdown to Christmas an adventure of its own.

For families looking for a non-candy Christmas countdown, squishy advent calendars are an option worth exploring.

Best Squishy Advent Calendars for Christmas 2026

There are several styles of squishy advent calendars to consider this Christmas. From mystery toy collections to food-themed squishies, each offers a different experience.

1. Christmas Squishy Advent Calendar – 24 Days of Surprise Toys

This festive calendar features 24 days of squishy surprises, giving children something new to discover throughout December.

Instead of opening the same type of gift every day, kids can enjoy the excitement of discovering another mystery squishy toy.

Each surprise adds to the collection, making the countdown enjoyable long after the compartment has been opened.

What makes this calendar special?

• Multiple calendar styles available

• Recommended for ages 3 and older

2. Mini Squishy Advent Calendars

Mini squishy advent calendars are another fun choice for Christmas 2026.

These calendars focus on small, collectible squishy toys that children can squeeze, display, and add to their toy collections.

Mini squishies are especially appealing because they come in so many imaginative designs. Children may enjoy collecting tiny animals, colorful characters, miniature foods, and other playful creations.

The small size also makes them convenient for holiday activities, imaginative play, and displaying alongside other collectibles.

When shopping for mini squishy calendars, pay attention to the recommended age range and whether the toys contain small parts.

3. Food-Themed Squishy Advent Calendars

Food-themed squishy toys have become a recognizable part of the collectible toy category, with designs inspired by hamburgers, donuts, cupcakes, fruits, and other familiar foods.

A food-themed squishy advent calendar brings that playful concept into the Christmas countdown.

Imagine opening a compartment and discovering a miniature squishy cupcake, colorful donut, or adorable hamburger-shaped toy.

For children who love pretend kitchens, miniature collectibles, and food-inspired toys, this style of calendar can make an entertaining holiday gift.

Look for calendars that offer a variety of designs rather than repeating the same squishy throughout the countdown.

4. Animal-Themed Squishy Advent Calendars

Animal-themed squishies are another adorable option for Christmas.

From kittens and puppies to bears, bunnies, and other cute creatures, animal-inspired squishy toys combine playful designs with a satisfying squeezable texture.

These calendars may appeal to children who already enjoy animal figurines, plush toys, or miniature character collections.

Some animal squishies feature exaggerated facial expressions and bright colors, adding even more personality to the toys.

If your child loves animals, an animal-themed squishy countdown calendar may be a great fit.

5. Mystery Squishy Advent Calendars

For children who love surprises, mystery squishy advent calendars offer an extra layer of excitement.

Rather than choosing a calendar based on one specific character or theme, children get to discover different mystery toys as the countdown progresses.

The anticipation of opening each compartment can become one of the most enjoyable parts of the holiday season.

Mystery calendars can also encourage children to compare their discoveries, organize their collections, and share their favorite surprises with family members.

Why Squishy Advent Calendars Make Great Christmas Gifts

Finding Christmas gifts that keep children entertained can sometimes feel challenging. While traditional toys often provide excitement when they're first opened, an advent calendar spreads that anticipation across several weeks.

One of the biggest advantages of a squishy advent calendar is that it turns the days leading up to Christmas into a daily celebration.

Each morning brings another opportunity to discover something new.

Squishy calendars also offer a non-edible alternative to candy-filled advent calendars. This can be appealing to families who prefer toys over daily sweets.

Another benefit is the collectible nature of squishy toys. Children can keep their surprises, organize them, and incorporate them into imaginative play.

The soft, squeezable texture can also make squishies enjoyable as hands-on fidget toys, although they should not be treated as therapeutic products.

Most importantly, an advent calendar can become part of a family holiday tradition that children look forward to every December.

How to Choose the Best Squishy Advent Calendar for Kids

Not every squishy advent calendar is the same. Before purchasing one for Christmas 2026, it's worth considering a few important details.

Age appropriateness: Always check the manufacturer's recommended age range. Some squishy toys are small and may present choking hazards for younger children.

Number of surprises: If you want a traditional December countdown, look for a calendar containing 24 numbered surprises.

Toy material: Check the product description to understand what the squishies are made from and follow any manufacturer care instructions.

Variety of designs: Calendars featuring different colors, shapes, and characters can make the countdown more interesting.

Your child's interests: Some children love animals, while others prefer food-shaped toys, mystery collectibles, or holiday-themed characters.

Delivery timing: Order early enough to receive your calendar before December 1, especially during the busy holiday shopping season.

Choosing a calendar that matches your child's interests can make the experience even more memorable.

When Should You Buy a Squishy Advent Calendar for Christmas 2026?

Although advent calendars are traditionally opened in December, October and November are excellent months to begin planning your Christmas countdown.

Shopping early gives you more time to compare styles, review product details, and account for holiday shipping.

Waiting until the last minute can leave less time for delivery, particularly if you're purchasing gifts from an online store.

For the best experience, aim to have your squishy advent calendar ready before December 1, 2026.

That way, children can enjoy the complete 24-day countdown without missing any surprises.

Fun Ways to Make Your Squishy Advent Calendar Even More Exciting

A squishy advent calendar is entertaining on its own, but you can make it an even bigger part of your family's holiday celebrations.

Consider creating a special morning routine where children open their daily surprise while enjoying breakfast or listening to Christmas music.

You can also encourage children to display their squishy collections in a designated holiday area.

Another fun idea is to have children choose their favorite squishy of the week and explain what they like about it.

Families with multiple children can turn the countdown into a shared holiday activity, with each child enjoying an age-appropriate calendar of their own.

These simple traditions can transform a Christmas countdown into memories that last well beyond the holiday season.

Are Squishy Advent Calendars Worth Buying?

For families who enjoy collectible toys and Christmas countdown traditions, squishy advent calendars can offer a fun alternative to traditional holiday gifts.

Instead of receiving one toy, children get the excitement of discovering multiple surprises throughout December.

A 24-day calendar also encourages anticipation, curiosity, and daily participation in holiday activities.

The value ultimately depends on the quality of the toys, the price of the calendar, and how much your child enjoys squishy collectibles.

If your child already loves mystery toys, cute characters, and squeezable collectibles, a squishy advent calendar may be a particularly enjoyable choice.
